HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO REGISTER?
The trademark registration procedure at OSIM takes approximately 7-8 months and involves:
Submission of registration request at OSIM
Advertising for observations (absolute grounds)
Application review of trademark registration
Issue of the trademark registration decision
Advertising for oppositions
Closing the registration procedure
Trademark registration certificate
The EUIPO trademark registration procedure is faster (approx. 4 months).

HOW LONG IS A TRADEMARK PROTECTED?
The initial period of protection of a trademark registered at OSIM is 10 years from the date of submission of the application.
Trademarks can be renewed for successive periods of 10 years
How much does it cost to renew a brand?
wordmark renewal = 1.780 Lei *
renew black and white mark = 1.929 Lei *
brand renewal color = 2.327 Lei *
EU brand renewal = 1.020 EURO *
* includes all official fees for a NISA class
* if the mark has expired , the renewal fee is increased by 50%
WHAT IS THE NICE CLASSIFICATION?
All categories of products and services for which you are applying for trademark protection are subject to a complex classification, called the Nice Classification. For example.
leather goods and replacements = Class 18
clothing = Class 25
transport, travel organization = Class 39
restaurants, bars, temporary accommodation = Class 43
